Roof inspections
Is a drone roof inspection safer than a traditional inspection?
Quick answer
A drone can make the initial visual inspection safer by avoiding unnecessary access onto steep, high or fragile roofs. It does not completely replace physical inspection because hidden defects, fixings and materials may still need hands-on assessment.
Drone Inspection Versus Physical Roof Inspection
Drone inspection gives complete external coverage without scaffold or roof access — the right choice for tall, steep or fragile roofs and for pre-purchase surveys.
Physical inspection lets a roofer check the roof void, insulation and underlay from inside, and hands-on-assess the covering where safe access exists.
For most properties, the two are complementary. A drone survey plus a loft inspection gives the most complete picture at the lowest cost and risk.
